Research, Clinical, and/or Academic Interests

Dr. Abou-Daya's work focuses on the intra-graft immune response against transplanted organs, which includes graft-infiltrating T cells and tertiary lymphoid organs; specifically, it focuses on establishing that tissue resident memory T cells form and function in allograft rejection and that tertiary lymphoid organs are a cause of chronic rejection. Recently, he is working on identifying genes and gene networks unique to graft infiltrating T cells using machine learning. His main aim is to build a comprehensive gene expression database relevant to transplantation.
