Elevated Carcinoembryonic Antigen Warrants Adjuvant Chemotherapy in High-risk Stage II Colon Cancer

Date

February 8, 2022 - 10:00am to 11:30am

Event Description

Presenter: Tanner Wilson, MD

In this talk, The Wilson will present an evaluation of CEA level as a risk factor for survival in high-risk stage II colon cancer. Dr. Wilson's research group use machine learning survival analysis methods to demonstrate that, for high-risk stage II colon cancers, CEA is an independent predictor of survival with similar prognostic value to other currently accepted high-risk features. They demonstrate improved survival in patients with elevated CEA levels undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy. Dr. Wilson will outline future plans to validate these findings with local UPMC data.

Location and Address
