Presenter: Elizabeth Pace, MD 

Dr. Pace wil provide updates regarding her ongoing work with neonates and clinical trials. She will share some updates for the NICU Antibiotics and Outcomes (NANO) Trial, an ongoing multicenter RCT assessing empiric antibiotic use and the gastrointestinal microbiome in preterm, low-birthweight neonates. Next, she will discuss ongoing efforts for the Postoperative Antibiotics in Necrotizing Enterocolitis (PAINTER) Trial, including results of a scoping review of the literature pertaining to perioperative antibiotic administration in the setting of surgical NEC. And finally, she will touch on some of her upcoming projects, including a systematic review protocol for the surgical management of NEC and preparation for a qualitative study regarding barriers to neonatal consent for clinical trials.
