As COVID-19 and social distancing continues, we held our second virtual Grand Rounds lecture today via Microsoft Teams. Anita P. Courcoulas, MD, MPH, FACS presented the Master Surgeon Lecture “Food for Thought: The Case of Bariatric Surgery.” Below are links to some of Dr. Courcoulas’ recent work:

Congratulations to Giselle G. Hamad, MD, FACS, FASMBS and Amer H. Zureikat, MD, FACS, who were both appointed to named professorships in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine effective February 1, 2020. Dr. Hamad was appointed to the Charles Gray Watson Professorship in Surgical Education and Dr. Zureikat was appointed to the UPMC Professorship in Clinical Surgery.

Congratulations to Anita P. Courcoulas, MD, MPH, FACS, Chief of the Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery, who was appointed Anthony M. Harrison, MD Chair in Surgery; and Matthew Randall Rosengart, MD, MPH, Vice Chair of Academic Training, who was appointed Watson Family Chair in Surgery. Both appointments in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine became effective December 1, 2019.
