Research, Clinical, and/or Academic Interests

Dr. Jennifer Holder-Murray's research interests focus upon the clinical outcomes of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, rectal cancer, and optimizing perioperative care. She is the surgeon leader of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Program throughout all UPMC hospitals. Additional interests include determining associations between perioperative alterations in the microbiome and the risk of postoperative complications.
