"Updates Regarding Antibiotics & Clinical Trials"

Presenter: Dr. Elizabeth Pace (advisors: Drs. Michael Morowitz & Stefan Scholz)  

In this presentation, Dr. Pace will provide updates regarding her group's ongoing clinical research studies involving antibiotics and infants in the NICU, including the NICU Antibiotics and Outcomes (NANO) Trial as well as the Postoperative Antibiotics in Necrotizing Enterocolitis (PAINTER) Trial, as well as an introduction to some of their new associated clinical projects. She will also provide some updates from the EPSN Appendicitis and Antibiotics Study following completion of their second phase of data collection and recent abstract submissions. 


"NAD Metabolism in Aging and Sepsis"

Presenter: Dr. Maryam Mohammed (mentor: Dr. Brian Zuckerbraun)

Dr. Mohammed will be discussing her lab's work identifying changes in levels of NAD metabolites in aging and sepsis, as well as ongoing work studying whether supplementation of NAD precursors affects concentrations of metabolites or enzymes in the pathway.
