From Papillary Thyroid Cancer Recurrence to COVID and Surgical Care: How I Plan to Spend My Victory Lap in the Lab

While mortality in papillary thyroid cancer is extremely low, predicting patients in whom it will recur is of significant interest. The American Joint Committee on Cancer recently made changes to its staging system based on updated data regarding predictors of mortality in differentiated thyroid cancer, in this study we examine how those changes affect the ability of the staging system to predict papillary thyroid cancer recurrence.

Scaling up Surgical Training via the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA): International Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development

Dr. Hill will be discussing: (1) her experience as a participant-observer in a Kenyan residency program, (2) the educational needs assessment I completed across East Africa, and (3) the online surgical curriculum that is undergoing its initial roll-out across the COSECSA training programs.
